Crittebot Video

Critterbots are simple paper robots that kids ages 5 and up can construct on their own using an inexpensive kit. The robots use vibration to shimmy around and dance next to one another, and include instructions for incorporating a home made switch that serves as an obstacle sensor. Older kids are challenged to adjust the paper fold to change the speed and direction of the movement, and everyone is encouraged to name their robot and give it a personality through color and decorative features.

This workshop was been run at the Philadelphia Museum of Art as part of the Collab on March 11, 2017 and at the Design Kids program t the Cooper Hewitt Smithsonian Design Museum on April 4 and April 11, 2015.
