Medusa Soft Robotics Sculpture
April 2019
This work features a series of soft robots in the form of tubes controlled by embedded servomotors. It was developed as a month-long pop-up experience at 1301 Broadway, Cranbrook Academy of Art’s downtown Detroit exhibition space. This interactive sculpture engages with curious onlookers through the gallery windows, using computer vision to understand movement and respond by raising one of its heads to face the viewer.
